16 Ways You Can Enjoy Life & Recharge

We look forward to weekends as it's a time where we can enjoy the simpler things in life and recharge. But why can't we recharge a little, every day? Here are 16 time-efficient ways you can recharge.

  • Treat your shower as a bath and add relaxing essential oils and light candles. Don't save the nice stuff for special occasions. Every day is a special occasion

  • Take driving slow. Create a relaxing playlist and pop it on. It can be a playlist full of the spice girls or nature sounds for all I care just have something that you find soothing. Getting road rage helps no one (I should definitely take me own advice here).

  • Read a book. Even just one page. Even one sentence. Give yourself permission, it isn't selfish.

  • Be silent. There's talk that new silent retreats will be emerging this year. Create your own retreat and spend some time being silent.  A good time for this could be when the rest of the household is asleep so try this technique late at night or early morning.

  • Escapism. A movie, a book, trash tv. However, you like to do it. Spend some time from someone else's perspective.

  • Dance. Everyone knows that corny saying "Dance like no one's watching". Well, it kind of applies here. Dance to your favourite song, don't worry how you look just focus on how you feel!

  • Meditate. You know we are big fans of mediation. Even a couple of minutes can help you recharge.

  • Journal. Wow, surprising I know, everyone seems to be about the journal life recently, but there is a reason for that. It. Works.

  • Allow choice. You are a badass, and you have choice. Allow yourself to not work on that project or that writing piece. Allow yourself to feel the flow of the way your mind and body wants to work.

  • Affirmations. Affirmations are a fab way to recharge and rewire your brain. 

  • Take a digital detox. I promise, turning your phone onto aeroplane mode for just 20 minutes will make you feel so much more refreshed and productive.

  • Mindful eating. Enjoy your food! When you eat mindfully, you truly taste and enjoy your food, (this also prevents overeating!).

  • Vision board image shopping. Slow down and recharge by getting clear on your goals and dreams in a fun way. Go image 'shopping' and find new images that resonate with you.

  • Discover a motto. Sometimes, when you need to recharge, looking to quotes or mottos can really help. My personal favourite is: "You are only one decision away from a totally different life".

  • Go flower hunting. It's scientifically proven (at least that's our excuse) that flowers and plants uplift our spirits. So go and pick up a lovely bunch and take the time to put together a beautiful display to improve your week.

  • Make tea or coffee. Yes, it sounds like a chore but hear me out. Take the time to make a good cup of tea, measuring the correct amount of loose leaves, steeping those leaves for the right amount of time and taking the time to enjoy said cup of tea can really energise you!

Here are just 16 small ways that you can fit recharging into your day. Or evening. Or weekend! It is so important to recharge as not only is stress dangerous, but recharging can also make you more productive. Win. Win.
