4 Lists To Make For A More Organised Life


Hands up if you love a list!


Lists are an excellent way to stay organised and on track BUT only if you use them AND if you create the RIGHT lists.



The Categories

Most lists that you make will fall into one of the 4 categories:







We have found by creating the right lists; we have more structure in our lives.

So with that in mind, we wanted to share with you 4 of the lists that are making a significant impact on our lives and business...


A Weekly check-in

A weekly check-in helps you ensure you are getting the most out of your week and that you are moving forward with your goals.


It is not about getting everything right, but it is about reflection, seeing what went well and what we would like to improve.


It is about checking in with how you feel and what you can do to lead a happier and more fulfilled life.


Here are some examples as to what you could include in your check-in.


-What went well?

-What did you learn?

-How would you rate your week?

-What are your goals and intentions for next week?


Routine Lists

I know keeping a list of your routines may sound odd, but it serves two purposes: it helps you to build on habits and reduces decision fatigue.


When you have your morning routine set out in a list, for example, you can see where you have time to habit build. So for example, if you always have your breakfast at 7 am, then you could build the habit of reading a few pages of your book to get you motivated for the day.


By looking at your list every morning, you know automatically know what you need to do, and you do not waste time thinking 'what now?'. It also ensures you do not forget anything.

It can also help in your job, for example, I have a list of what I need to do and what my other team members need to do to get a blog post from concept to completion.


There are so many routines that you could list but here are some suggestions:


-Packing routine- have you ever left something essential at home? This list can prevent those situations!

-Morning routine - because who really likes thinking too much when you have just woken up?!

-Evening routine - helps you set yourself up for success the next day. Pack lunch. Clothes ready. Check!


Business Processes

Listing out your business processes helps you grow and save time. It prevents you from forgetting anything, enables you to scale when you are looking after a team, and allows you to see what needs to be streamlined.


Here are some of our suggestions:


-Monthly to do list

-When a new client or customer comes on board

-Team evaluations


Life Maintenance

A life maintenance list is incredible as it stops those little things from turning into massive things to do at the weekend. You know how it can be, after a busy week you can spend your weekend running errands instead of recharging.


Keeping a 'to buy' or a 'errands' list can work well. If you are early for your hair appointment for example, and you need to buy stamps, and the post office is right there then you can use that time to get the stamps.

Keep all of your lists in one place. We love Trello as you can get it on your desktop and in the form of an app. You can track progress, create checklists and have other people collaborate with you, perfect if you are managing a team or managing a household with your partner.


Make your lists accessible everywhere that you are. It only works if you USE them, a list is no good if it's only at home on the fridge!


These lists are to help you! If this is not the way your mind works, then list building may not be the solution for you. It is all about creating a system that works for you.
