How To Boost Your Creativity

Creative Desk.jpg

Creativity is a hard one as it rarely comes when you need it. However, there are things you can do to help boost your creativity.  Here are our 6 tips to boost creativity.

Sketch

Follow in the footsteps of Mark Parker, CEO of Nike, and sketch your way to creativity. Mark uses sketching as a form of brainstorming and mapping out ideas. Work with whatever medium suits you best whether that be your smartphone, or good old pen and paper or even on the side of a cereal box!

Meditate

More and more entrepreneurs are becoming aware of the benefits of meditation. With apps and Youtube, mediation is more accessible than ever. Clearing your mind is a great way to let creativity flow.

Get a massage

Have you ever gone for a massage and your mind just wonders? Do you go into a half conscious- half relaxed state of mind where ideas and answers just come to you? This is something we find very useful. Besides it's worth a try... and worst case scenario you should come out rather relaxed.

Drink tea

Teas with yerba, sage and cinnamon boast your energy levels and improve concentration. So brew a cup before you sit down for your next brainstorming session. Or stand, whatever is your thing.

Take a break

Taking a break is important. An overworked brain can lead to malfunction. Preferably a break away from the screen. Go for a walk, enjoy a coffee and be inspired by things outside of your industry and train of thought.

Work late (but not for long)

We are going to contradict ourselves now and say try working on your idea nearer the end of the day. Why? Because when you are tired, you are less likely to apply logic to your ideas which will in run let creativity flow. Creativity doesn't derive from logic. You have to push boundaries and be experimental. Try working for 15 minutes at the end of the day to see if creativity sparks.

Let us know if any work for you. We would love to hear your success stories!
