Power Hour Tips

Power hours are a fantastic tool, but only if you use them correctly. In this hour there should be little to no distractions, and you should have a 'game plan' (don't worry this post will help you with your game plan). So, here are our top 6 tips to help you rock your power hour and be the most efficient version of you.

Pick a time that will have a low frequency of distractions... this could be early in the morning before anyone has awoken or before anyone has come into work. Alternatively, this could be in the evening after your children are asleep. Make it work for you.

Eliminate distractions... make it known to those around you that you are not to be disturbed during this time unless it's critical.

Turn devices on aeroplane mode... on the topic of distractions, our devices, our phones, Apple watches, computers and tablets can be huge distractions. Turn them on aeroplane mode to prevent even a notification tempting you.

Write your list... a list is crucial for a productive power hour. It prevents you having to think about what needs to be done next. Write your list in priority order to ensure the most important things get done.

Think about links... think about the easiest way to get from 'A' to 'B', in other words, think of the most efficient way to get your tasks done.

Don't be hard on yourself... if your power hour is not going to plan do not freak out. Getting angry at yourself and the situation will only cause a rut.
