If you haven't taken the time or been able to take time so far today to recharge, then I want to be the one to remind you to do so.

Business owners notoriously find it hard to recharge as they are typically thinking about the business, sometimes even subconsciously.

Yet, here is the thing: you do better when you take the time to take a break.

When you set aside time to recharge, it doesn't need to be hours long; it is more about what you do to recharge.

I see recharging as a little different from relaxing.

Relaxing may be something you want to do to wind down, perhaps to watch Netflix or play video games; whereas recharging can be done in little time and is more focussed on re-energising you.

So with this in mind, I wanted to share 7 of our current favourite ways to recharge.

I have tried every single one on this list, and I hope that they give you as much energy, clarity and comfort as they did me.

DRAW OR COLOUR WHILST LISTENING TO RELAXING MUSIC OR NATURE SOUNDS.

I personally have found that drawing allows the mind to wander in a positive way.

It encourages scatter focus which can be really helpful when it comes to problem solving and reflection, which makes colouring or drawing a great way to spend 15-20 minutes.

Combine that with the nature sounds or relaxing music, and you can come away feeling very recharged.

GO FOR A WALKING MEDITATION.

There are so many great apps and programs out there that will help you with your walking meditation.

Walking mediation audios are great as you know when the track has finished playing, you are done!

You can, of course, do this without a soundtrack but I find that they are super useful when you are just getting started.

MINDFULLY MAKE A DRINK. AND ENJOY IT.

Whether it is tea, coffee, a cocktail of your choice; mindfully making a drink (and taking the time to actually enjoy it) can be a very mindful practice.

It can feel really good to just enjoy the simple things that we often take no notice of.

A VISUALISATION BASED ON THE LIFE YOU WANT TO CREATE.

Visualisation is powerful.

It is also a great way to recharge as it reconnects you with your vision.

Visualisation can look like anything you want it to.

But here are a few suggestions to get you started:

Visualise how you want your day to look.

Visualise getting your most important things done.

Visualise achieving your goal.

The visualisation allows you to choose your focus which, in turn, will enable you to show up differently. Plus it usually leads to feeling motivated, which I am sure you will agree is a very energising feeling.

MINDFUL MOVEMENT.

When I think of mindful movement, my brain goes straight to yoga, but you can apply this idea to any form of activity.

From running to cleaning and everything in between, take your movement and do it with purpose.

I love to tune into the moment as I do a quick mid-day tidy!

A JOURNALING SESSION TO DEBRIEF ON THE DAY SO FAR.

We love journaling and believe there is so much power in it.

It's a tool that's pretty much always there for you and is accessible to anyone.

Just writing everything on your mind can help.

But here are a few extra prompts to help you:

What went well today?

What would I do differently?

What is my intention for tomorrow?

PLAYING YOUR FAVOURITE MUSIC AND MAYBE EVEN DANCING.

When was the last time you just listened to your favourite music?

Nothing else just listened. Or maybe moved a little to the beat?

But no phone.

No Instagram or emails.

No driving or cleaning.

Just listened and enjoyed the music?

It is not something done too much anymore as life has so many distractions. BUT it could be the answer to your need to recharge.

Try it. Try a few of your favourite songs and just notice how you feel after.

If you feel better, then that's a great sign that this could be one of the ways you could recharge!

So there you have it: 7 ways to recharge. Remember, recharging doesn't need to be lengthy; the frequency and consistency are far more important than time spent.
